Daily brushing should do it.

This pulls the dead hair out, and with it, the dander (dead skin), both of which can trap air and create ‘odor’.

You shouldn’t need to bathe your pets more than once a month unless they tend to find smelly dead things to roll in. :])

you can wash your dog as often as weekly with no ill effects, providing you use a high-quality pet shampoo (human shampoo is the wrong pH for dogs) and you are feeding them a high-quality diet with enough fat to maintain their skin health even though you bathe them frequently.

I lived in the south for years and had to bathe all of my animals weekly to keep them flea free. they all did fine and smelled great.

Your Vet. can tell you what is safe to use, so your dog smells nice.Even Animal Shelters, sell nice things, for deoderizing your pet.

Brush your dog regularly. There are products such as bathing wipes you can buy, they are similar to baby wipes and you can use these in between bathing.

There are also pet deodorant sprays which are great to keep them smelling sweet.

Some dogs have bad foot odor, they have sweat glands in the webbing between the toes and they pick up bits of everything (including poop) they walk on often this is the source of the smell and this can be controlled by washing their feet regularly.

Another source of smell is their mouth, keep their teeth clean and their breath fresh as when they lick themselves, it transfers the smell from their mouth to the fur.
