or blades arent sharp enough? are your blades always sharpened? i know i need my #4F sharpened, i had problems going against the grain with that one recently. check ur blades

hmm.. maybe its just cuz my clipper is old?

i dont know what kind of clipper blades you are using to make that happened. it eliminates clipper lines. but i only go backwards on dogs that realy shouldnt be shaved, like golden retirevers, cavalier king charles spaniels and setting patterns on cockers etc . comes out so smoothly for me

yeah but if u go against the grain you dog looks like a mowed lawn.. u see all the lines from the shaver!

if u take the same clpper blade and clip against the grain, it cutes more hair than going with the grain
i.e #4 with the grain clips 1/2 inch but go against the grain and it clips like a #7F blade, which is 1/8 inch. BIG DIFFERENCE!
