give a flyer to your neighbors in their mailbox and post an ad in the local newspaper.
Put up flyers at your vet, pet store, etc…
Do not out them in mailboxes, that is a federal offense.
In our area, you can put flyers (like a door hanger) on peoples houses.
post some flyers. its probably the best way to get your service started. but if you have the time and the money, try putting something about it in the newspaper. dont forget to tell your friends and family to get the word out!!
Check if it okay to post flyers, be ware of mailboxes, there laws on certain flyers various from state to state, of course missing persons and animals sign are exempt. If the law gives the okay, make sure you put a number, reasonable prices, the hours available, and make sure you put a geographic location for the locals.
In our city, we have to have a permit to “peddle”. You might start by going to the city hall to see if you need a permit.
so don’t put them up on anything. make up flyer’s or business cards and put them on peoples mailboxes. not inside them, because that is illegal. put them under the flag or in newspaper boxes. you could also put in a classified ad in your local newspaper under the pets or dog section. best thing is word of mouth. once you have a few customers and they realize how well you treat their dogs, then they will tell other dog/pet owners about you, and that’s how you get business
Try putting your flyers up at local grocery store bulletin boards, Vet office bulletin boards, pet stores (that don’t have bathing services- you can just post the walking service info there). Print cards up and pass them out to people at a local area dog park, as you see people passing on the street or to anyone you know has dogs around the area. Include “References available upon request” which means you’ll have numbers of people whose dogs you have bathed and walked that are satisfied with what you do who they can talk to about your services.

If you know some of your neighbours pretty well, just ask them if they would like that service. If you start doing it for some and do a good job, ask them to put a good word in for you with the rest of the neighbourhood. Its worth a shot.

take you dog(if you have one) for a walk to the dog park or any where else you see alot of dogs and hand out flyers there

Well theres a few different things you can try. First go to some of the stores in your area that a lot of people visit, Walmart, grocery stores stuff like that. Also try local vet clinics and the humane society or any other animal related shop. Ask if you can hang up a flyer on one of their bulletin boards there. When you make up a flyer make it catchy and bright. Make sure you clearly advertise dog walking and grooming and list your contact . What you could do is have one of the flyers with the rip off bottom of your phone number. Include a picture and have big font for easier reading. Next thing to do is see about placing an ad in the newspaper. This will cost a bit of money usually but is well worth it. Again clearly state dog walking and grooming and your contact info. Maybe even offer in home dog sitting at either their home or yours if possible, many people will pay good money to have someone watch their dogs and it is less stressful than boarding them.Another way is to make up fliers small ones about half a page and attach it to a milkbone and put it in peoples mailboxes or up on their doors, like what politicans do when they are running for office. Last way to get clients is to visit a local dog club training or dog show make up fliers and pass them out to people there. Also when you do get clients make up little business cards and tie it with a ribbon to a milkbone and leave that for the owner everytime you do a job. Its a cute way to say thank you for calling me and it also makes sure that they dont forget who you are. Well I hope this helps some
Go to Kinko’s or a place that sells cards.Make up some with your phone on it and pass them out to your neighbors.See what feed back you get.I hope you know that a lot of dogs don’t like a bath.Be careful….
